Our Optical Shutter product family includes both two-state and continuously variable devices used to control the amount of time or intensity that a light-sensitive material is exposed to optical radiation. Optical Shutters are highly reliable, easy to install and operate, and can function as drop-in replacements for bulky mechanical light choppers.
Designed for visible wavelength operation, ColorLink® Optical Shutters provide millisecond response times and high open state transmission. Additional Optical Shutter features include uniform, high purity linear polarized output, wide acceptance angles, and excellent extinction ratio performance.
Since these devices are liquid crystal based – undesirable mechanical motion, associated noise, and vibration problems are eliminated.
Drive requirements are simple, requiring a 2 kHz AC square wave at 50% duty cycle with low voltage requirements (0-30 V rms). Ask about our new three-channel drive electronics, planned for release in the first quarter of 2006.
Variable Attenuators from ColorLink provide fast, accurate transmission control with negligible beam deviation. Compact, thin, and lightweight – ColorLink Optical Shutters address applications in three-dimensional imaging, instrumentation, telecommunications, holography, and printing.
